December 15, 2007 The puppies are three weeks old. This week the puppies started reacting to various noises. We removed the puppy pool and allowed them to move about freely in the x-pen. They also started eating "puppy mash". When the puppies stop gaining weight consistently it is time to supplement mom's milk. They took to the puppy mash quickly. Since they don't have teeth yet, I have to grind it up for them and then I add puppy formula to it for additional nutrients. The puppies also started playing with each other and I am beginning to see personalities evolve in some of them. To see pictures of Lucy's litter at eight weeks old click here.
